PART I (40%)
Choose one essay that you wrote this semester and write a Revision Plan (2+ pages, double-spaced) for it. This plan can be relatively informal organizationally, but it should be very specific, detailng what changes you’d make throughout the essay if you were to improve it and make it better. Think Bones/Muslces/Skins revision levels and use the peer feedback and my own feedback you received to assist you. But most importantly, reread the essay and push yourself to come up with numerous specific suggestions on ways to improve/change the essay. This will largely be graded on detail, specificity, and depth of proposed changes.
PART II (60%)
Write an Autobiographical (4+ pages, double-spaced) essay based on your experiences as a writer this semester. For a step-by-step discussion of this part of the assignment, read Workshop 12 (provided via email) and peruse the sample autobiographies at the workshop’s end. Follow the workshop instructions concerning the autobiography closely! This essay will be graded mainly for how completely and thoroughly you discuss your own writing, so take your time and write as specifically and with as much detail as possible. And use the book’s suggestions and guidelines to your advantage!

As you work, recall everything we’ve touched on this semester, including idea/topic generation, free writing, development, organization, argument and analysis (observation and explanation), genre, research, and revision. Be sure to work on your essays taking these areas into account. At this point, you all should be able to look back on what we’ve talked about and have a decent understanding of what “good” writing entails and be able to work on your own writing taking this knowledge and experience into account.
